One Room Challenge Week 1

One Room Challenge Guest Participant

The time has FINALLY come to tackle the most boring kitchen in the Florida Panhandle and I am so excited I could scream. Apparently in the late 90's no one thought kitchens needed pizazz, punch or sparkle. Let me just show you what I mean.....

Basic, Basic, Basic

See what I mean... no spunk. No fun. No pizazz.

Since this photo was taken on move in day, the walls have been painted Behr Ultra Pure White and a rug was added but not much else. We spent the first several months getting all of the guest spaces updated because we knew a beach house would stay busy during the summer. Now this room is finally getting the attention it deserves.

My Mood Board:

I've been dreaming of a black planked peninsula and concrete countertops since I walked into our local LUSH. Is that weird? Probably, but I don't care. They have the perfect balance of crisp black and white partnered with warm woods and organic concrete (plus bath bombs that are completely intoxicating....) and cup pulls with the perfect patina.

I've scoured the internet for inspo pics to draw from and I've got a few surprises for this room up me sleeve too....

The vintage rug and crisp paint job on this one are making me swoon....

I fell in love with the idea of dark lowers and bright white uppers here. Dark can still be light and airy.

Just look at the planking on this one and those STOOLS!!! She also has me drooling over that matte gold faucet but that would probably cost me my entire kitchen budget....

If I were brave enough for open shelving this would be the goal.... but I know me and the dishes would never stay styled like this... #reallife

So here we go friends... six weeks to tackle a kitchen makeover. Someone start a pot of coffee because it's going to be a wild ride.

XOXO,

Christina
